- Continuous motion cables, the SUMOFLEX energy package and the new programming service for industrial robots are just some of the solutions that Sumcab will showcase at the eighth edition of Advanced Factories via its Sumcab Industry and Sumcab Robotics divisions.
Between 9 and 11 April, Barcelona will host the eighth edition of Advanced Factories, the benchmark trade show on advanced technologies for automation and industry 4.0. As a manufacturer of special cables, Sumcab will be represented at the event by two of its business divisions: Sumcab Industry and Sumcab Robotics. The company will exhibit its broad range of solutions for automation and industrial robotics, which is based on an extensive portfolio of cables and energy packages, as well as its new programming service for industrial robots.
Sumcab Robotics: 360º solutions for industrial robotics
At stand 2D492 (hall 2), visitors will be able to discover some of the key products available from Sumcab Robotics and see a pre-assembled cable testing simulation first-hand.
These solutions will include SUMOFLEX (Sumcab Motion Flex), a retraction system that using a modular design to enable both the corrugated tube diameter and the retraction tube length to be fully customised. This allows the system to be designed for varying lengths, enabling anchor points to be positioned anywhere around the robot.
SUMOFLEX demonstrates its versatility by adapting to singular custom applications. These include welding applications for the automotive industry and its Tier 1, in which the system is providing a significant improvement in reliability. As a result, SUMOFLEX is capable of adapting to the requirements of each application as well as exponentially extending the lifespan of the solution, while conventional alternatives eventually wear out the cabling system.
MTPReel™ is another major product from the Sumcab Robotics division, an automatic cable retraction system for industrial robots. This accessory makes safe and tidy storage of the cable far easier, preventing premature wear and tear.
Programming service
The largest automation and robotics event in southern Europe will provide the ideal setting in which to present the new programming service for industrial robots. The Programming department of Sumcab Robotics aims to develop advanced solutions based on a range of services that include programming activities, such as palletisation and load handling, the calibration of robotic tools and the development of customised industrial robotics applications. The Sumcab Robotics division has enhanced its offer with this new service to provide a comprehensive combination of products and services.
