Armoured cable are used, for example, in areas classified as explosive atmospheres (ATEX²) where they must withstand mechanical aggression and prevent the conductors from being damaged and producing a source of ignition.

They are also used in buried sites where the use of shovels or picks to carry out excavations can damage the cable, in places where rodents are present, in mining, in underwater installations and in any other application where it is expected that the cable could suffer mechanical stress.

Available with steel wire braid armour applied under the sheath in a continuous fashion on a set of conductors, covering at least 80% of the cable. Double steel strap armour (aluminium in the case of single-conductor cable¹) arranged under the cover in a helical shape, covering 100% of the cable. Steel wire armour (aluminium in the case of a single-conductor cable¹) arranged in a helical manner under the sheath, covering at least 90% of the cable.
