Sumsave® VFD ROZ1-K is a power supply cable for driving motors on alternating current controlled by variable frequency drives. It has been optimised for this use through symmetrical construction. It is a shielded cable for VFD that offers high chemical resistance and excellent performance against fire. Furthermore, the symmetrical construction structure enables small diameters to be produced. When combined with braid and tape shielding, it guarantees minimal electromagnetic emissions in adjacent electronic circuits.
VFD ROZ1-K belongs to our Sumsave® line of cables, which have been developed for industrial use and especially in potentially hazardous environments due to the presence of flammable substances. For this reason and although it is a cable for variable frequency drives that offers excellent performance in the manufacturing industry in general, it is particularly recommended for sectors in which safety is critical.
The Sumsave® VFD ROZ1-K cables meet the EU RoHS Directive, which restricts the use of potentially hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. They offer high chemical and mechanical resistance, as well as great protection against fire. These halogen-free cables are fireproof, preventing the spread of fire or flames, and are available in two versions: AS (High Safety), halogen-free and low smoke emission cables that prevent the spread of flames and fire; and AS+ (augmented High Safety), halogen-free and low smoke emission cables that are fireproof and continue to conduct electricity for a time in the event of a fire.
VFD ROZ1-K cable: shielded cable for variable frequency drives
The shielded cable for variable frequency drives for industrial use has double EMC shielding (electromagnetic compatibility) made from aluminium and copper that prevents release of the noise generated by the cable when energised while also blocking external noise. This shielding for VFD cables also offers thermal insulation for the conductors. The Sumsave® VFD ROZ1-K cable can withstand a maximum 90°C, although its operating temperature range in fixed and protected installation is between -40°C and 80°C. In the event of a short circuit, the maximum temperature it can withstand for a limit of five seconds would be 250°C.
The physical and electrical symmetry in shielded cables for VFD ensures a more balanced earthing system. Sumsave® VFD ROZ1-K is a cable with symmetrical construction.
Characteristics of the Sumsave VFD ROZ1-K cable
The technical characteristics offered by the VFD ROZ1-K cable include operating voltage values of between 0,6 and 1kV, and 4.000V of test voltage. The minimum radius of curvature for fixed installation is 7,5 by the exterior diameter, and 12 mm diameter in cables.
The advantages of symmetrical construction cables
In terms of their advantages, we can highlight their resistance to water jets from any direction, good UV ray tolerance and impact resistance that is suitable for industrial use (AG2 Medium).
Symmetrically constructed cables, such as Sumsave® VFD ROZ1-K, are the preferred choice for the operation of three-phase motors with inverters. This is mainly due to the reduced electromagnetic interference: symmetrical cables have parallel conductors with the same impedance, which reduces electromagnetic interference.
