Sumcab Projects brings its new developments in cabling for wind turbines and wind farms to WindEurope 2025. For the first time, Sumcab's business unit is attending this wind energy trade fair, which gathers more than 15.000 visitors and 550 exhibiting companies in Copenhagen (Denmark) this week.

At this event, the company is showcasing its cable range designed specifically for wind power generation, which meets the requirements of the sector: mechanical resistance in adverse conditions and extreme temperatures, high flexibility and torsional capacity, safety and durability.

To ensure an efficient and safe connection to the medium voltage grid, the company presents its Sumsave AL RHZ1 and Sumsave AL RH5Z1 solutions, two cables with a double water barrier and suitable for installation inside wind towers and in underground sites.

On the other hand, the Sumtherm series is part of the group of high-temperature cables for wind turbine engines. These solutions stand out for their extra-flexibility, resistance to the electrical corona effect and high durability materials such as polyurethane and silicone. Models available include: Sumtherm SIL-KUL 1.1Kv, Sumtherm SIL-KUL 3.7Kv, Sumtherm SIL-KUL 6.6Kv and Sumtherm SIL-KUL 13.8Kv.

Thanks to their advanced design, these cables can operate at extreme temperatures from -55°C to +180°C, offering a reliable and flexible solution in use.

Instrumentation and control

Within the range of cables for instrumentation and control, we can highlight the Sumflex Ventus cables, designed for signal transmission and control of wind turbine systems. The most highlighted models are:

  • Sumflex Ventus EM-Line: Low voltage shielded cable used in wind turbine auxiliary power supply systems, with UV, oil and ozone resistance. It is halogen-free and withstands working temperatures from -40ºC to 90ºC.
  • Sumflex Ventus TS M-Line: Low voltage (250 V) shielded cable, designed to withstand twisting stress in the cabling loop of wind turbines. It is also halogen-free, ozone, oil and UV resistant and is able to perform well under ambient conditions from -40°C to 70°C.

Both models are suitable for torque applications in wind turbines with a torsional capacity of up to 150 per metre.
