Sumcab Tailor Made Cables showcased its engineering and manufacturing capabilities for tailor-made cables designed for complex applications, while Sumcab Robotics exhibited its peripheral system Sumotex and monitoring solutions for industrial robotics.

Tailor-made manufacturing, adaptation to each application, and innovative solutions for industrial robots. These have been three of the most significant pillars of Sumcab during its participation in the Automatica trade fair, held from June 24 to 27 in Munich (Germany). The group was represented by Sumcab Tailor Made Cables (STMC) and its business unit Sumcab Robotics, which shared booth B6.117 to present their value proposition in the field of automation and industrial robotics.

STMC: engineering and tailor-made solutions with international reach

The presence of STMC at Automatica highlighted its role as the productive engine of the Sumcab group. From its facilities in Sant Pol de Mar, STMC designs and manufactures standard and customized cables for automation, robotics, rolling stock, and other sectors requiring demanding applications.

At booth B6.117, the STMC team showcased its cabling solutions for fixed installations, continuous motion applications, and demanding environments. One of the main competitive advantages of these cables is their customized manufacturing by an engineering team with deep technical and market knowledge, allowing precise adaptation to a wide variety of applications. Additionally, these cables stand out for their resistance to extreme conditions such as fire, torsion cycles, humidity, and UV radiation. Their structure and construction also simplify installation, reduce assembly time, and ensure seamless integration into diverse industrial systems.

A high-performance product that is complemented by a comprehensive customer support service, from concept to final solution, with competitive lead times and close, agile, and efficient attention.

Sumcab Robotics: robotic optimization through cabling

Under its philosophy of “The small change that changes everything”, the business unit Sumcab Robotics has delivered customized cabling and energy packages for industrial robotics, with key innovations such as Sumotex and SumoSense.

Sumotex and SumoSense: innovation to extend robot lifespan

The Sumotex textile energy package, featuring its innovative pneumatic pressure chamber system, was especially appreciated for its ability to protect cables during robotic movement without the need for mechanical retraction systems, thus improving robot dynamics, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing system longevity.

In parallel, SumoSense, the smart monitoring system for the Sumotex package, attracted interest for allowing real-time monitoring of cable status and the ability to anticipate potential issues. This solution helps to extend the service life of the cables and simplifies predictive maintenance. All data can be accessed through the iSumotex interface, offering real-time visualization and interpretation from any connected device.

With key clients like Daimler —served from Sumcab Robotics’ headquarters in Germany— and an industrial footprint in Spain, Germany, and Italy, supported by more than 40 specialized technicians and four R&D laboratories, Sumcab Robotics consolidates its position as a trusted partner with forward-looking vision in the field of industrial robotics.

The company demonstrates its commitment to industrial automation and robotics through a value proposition focused on technical excellence, close customer relationships, and the development of disruptive solutions. A vision centered on innovation and customization, clearly demonstrated during its participation in Automatica 2025.
