With a clear international vocation and innovation as a central pillar, Sumcab Projects has established itself as a strategic partner in major renewable and industrial projects. In this interview, the Group’s projects division reviews the milestones achieved in 2025, the rollout of new photovoltaic cabling solutions, and its growth and internationalization priorities looking ahead to 2026.
How would you define the mission and scope of Sumcab’s Projects division within the Group?
Sumcab Projects’ scope of activity is the collaboration on and development of national and international projects in renewable and industrial markets. Our main clients are EPC companies, developers, engineering firms, and investment funds.
Our mission is to manufacture high-quality cables, incorporating the best raw materials, in order to guarantee durability in very demanding environments.
Our international experience and technical knowledge of standards and raw materials allow us to innovate and develop—within our own laboratories—cables tailored to specific markets or environments.
What were the main strategic objectives set for 2025—regarding markets, innovation, certification, or commercial expansion—and to what extent have they been achieved? What is your assessment of 2025?
The strategic objectives set for 2025 were exceeded, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the entire Sumcab Projects team. The main goals achieved included sustained growth in new projects, increased visibility and consolidation of the Sumcab brand in strategic renewable energy projects, project diversification, certification of new cables designed for different markets, international commercial expansion, and increased revenue for Sumcab Projects.
Which milestones would you highlight in execution or supply for large renewable infrastructure projects this year?
In 2025, we would highlight the following milestones:
From a product standpoint, the manufacture and supply of the Overground cable—a unique solution specifically designed with the UV+ protection system—developed for photovoltaic installations where the cable is installed on overhead supports. This method avoids underground installation and the issues related to contact with the ground (water, contamination, stones, etc.), making assembly and maintenance easier on uneven terrain.
We also expanded and modified production lines at our plants with the aim of reducing lead times and delivering a very significant improvement for the customer.
We would also highlight the launch of new advanced and automated logistics centers, enabling a much more agile supply response.
From a project standpoint, one of our achievements in 2025 was Sumcab Projects’ ability to manufacture and supply, within the same timeframe, seven photovoltaic plants of more than 200 MW each, located in different parts of the world, with very tight deadlines and very high supply volumes. In this regard, the coordination of Sumcab Projects teams (factory, back office, and logistics) was essential to the success of these projects.
At the last edition of Genera 2025 you presented two innovations: ToughGround and Overground. How have they been received by the market?
Genera is a benchmark trade fair in the energy sector, where Sumcab Projects has participated as an exhibitor in recent years, bringing new products and added value to the energy market. At this latest edition, ToughGround and Overground cables were the main highlights. These are unique solutions developed by Sumcab Projects to address needs and weaknesses identified in the solar market, where the solution involves incorporating these types of cables into new projects.
Reception and overall interest have been very high, especially regarding technical and commercial enquiries aimed at considering them for future developments.
Our clients—mainly engineering firms and developers—have shown clear interest in including these cables in their requests for 2026. In fact, as of today, we have nine plants under evaluation that will be designed using these new cabling solutions.

In addition to these, are you planning any new product launches in 2026?
Yes. Sumcab Projects never stops—we are continuously evolving and always looking for the best options and alternatives. For the third quarter of 2026, we are planning some exciting new developments related to solar cable solutions, which we will share progressively as the year unfolds.
What are your expectations for how the sector will evolve in 2026, especially in photovoltaics, wind, and storage?
Our outlook is positive, both in terms of strengthening our presence and revenue and continuing commercial expansion into new areas.
In the solar segment, a shift in trend is being observed in the Spanish market, especially regarding the construction of greenfield plants. In this context, the market seems to be slowing down and adjusting the growth pace seen to date. At the same time, there is a strong push toward BESS energy storage, with new investments expected.
Overall, 2026 looks set to be a strong year, defined by new challenges in which Sumcab Projects will play a key role in the manufacturing and supply of cables.
What commercial growth targets have you set for 2026 in terms of revenue, project volume, or geographic expansion?
The objective is clear: sustained sales growth, together with international expansion and diversification.
We also want to continue consolidating our position as a benchmark brand and a guarantee of quality, as well as being a reliable, trusted support team for our customers.
Which markets will be the priority?
Our goal is diversification, since we have all the products and solutions required to participate in—and meet the specific needs of—all these markets. If we had to prioritize some, we would highlight solar, wind, and energy storage, while not overlooking other segments that can also deliver highly attractive projects.

What role will internationalization play in the Projects division’s strategy?
Sumcab Projects has been committed to internationalization for many years. It is a fundamental part of our success and our expertise, and it is also highly valued by our customers.
More and more, they trust us for projects in different parts of the world. Today, our scope of activity extends to more than 50 countries, which shows that we are an international manufacturer with no geographic or technical limitations.
And finally, what message would you share with the sector about the role Sumcab Projects wants to play in the energy transition throughout 2026?
Sumcab Projects is a trusted brand that goes far beyond the product and the manufacturing of electrical cables. Our value proposition combines an exceptional team, attention to detail, and—above all—close collaboration with our customers. We support and advise them throughout the entire process, bringing experience, technical know-how, and professionalism. We are a benchmark partner in the development of projects in renewable and industrial markets, and we want to continue playing an active and differentiated role in the sector.
